Septemer’s Mindfulness Monthly Memo focuses on self-care. Taking the time to do things that improve your physical and mental health. Small, intentional acts of self-care woven into our day to take care of ourselves can assist us in managing stress, lowering our risk of illness, and increasing our energy.

“This year, I’ll gain more work-life balance.” As we all know, that can be lofty and difficult to achieve. Instead, building micro habits into our daily routines may be helpful. A micro habit is a small, obtainable action that, when piggybacked with a daily task, can minimize the effort.

Here are a few self-care micro habits to try this month: 

1. Think of one positive self-affirmation while brushing your teeth.
2. Meditate while your coffee is brewing.
3. Think of one thing you are grateful for while eating your lunch.
